Description of Project Abstract

Salt Lake City Transportation Department needs engineers. The City employs Graduate and Undergraduate Students as Interns on Transportation projects.

Project Objectives

The goal of this project is to encourage Civil Engineering students to embark on work experience in the Transportation profession.

Project Approach/Methods

Interns will be supported by the City, the MPC program and the University through tuition waivers. Students will work in the City Transportation office and will be mentored in the University. Graduate students will develop theses that draw from their practical experience.

2. Effective Safety Management.
4. Low-Cost Safety Improvements.
5. Heavy Vehicles and Commercial Trucks.

Contributions/Potential Applications of Research

Practical Transportation problems will be given an academic approach.

Technology Transfer Activities

Local Transportation problems will be given academic attention.
